The Hendrik Shop is open for business and we have decided to put our creative space to use by having some studio and styling sessions that will help build confidence whilst being heaps of fun.
Each child will take home 5 beautiful studio shots after playing dress ups in Hendrik.

What an amazing weekend! Thank you to every one of

What an amazing weekend! Thank you to every one of you who has supported us- watching your girls and boys get into dress ups, little photoshoots and get excited about my workshop is pretty magic. And your dresses- well let's just say I have a few more Hendrik girls up on my wall now. 😍😭We opened our shop and you came and ate icecream on my lawn, tried EVERYTHING on, and made sure it was fitted perfectly for you (cause you deserve it, remember? 😉). (My last little lady *last vid* really wanted these pants that were way to long for her- 5 minutes later they weren't but now mum can pull a thread and give her 3 extra inches for her next growth spurt 😍).Some of you didn't want to try on when you came in- then after an hour and a half you walked out with your polariod pics and your three dresses tucked under your arms, icecream in mouth. 🤙We had conversations that made all of us feel good, and lots of athletic twirling 🙋‍♀️. And then you sent me these gorgeous pics because you're legends.Let's create a little community where our kids can come for an amazing experience...and I can get them excited about their clothes, their bodies and their ideas.Where we can hold workshops that teach skills whether it's craft, or body positivity or even tween mental health issues.A safe space where you can lay on my lawn and eat our @frozensunshineiceblocks treats and your kids can come hang out with us.You wanna?Xx Brooke

How to say thank you to everyone for our The Hendrik Shop launch on Friday??To all of those who attended, who sent me messages of support, who've cheered us on during this adventure...I can't even tell you how much that means to me.Showing my friends and family my shop and workshop gave me all the feels, but it was definitely topped by all our local girls turning up in their Hendrik! The giggles and excitement as we all played dress ups for a couple of hours is my WHY.It was a great night- and I can't wait to welcome the public when The Hendrik Shop opens this Saturday and Sunday 9-2. Eeek *hyperventilates again*We have an curated selection of high quality, sustainably and locally made products for tweens and teens- and you!I'm just gonna say it- I think we are the FIRST store of its kind for tweens and teens in Australia. With our workshop attached so you can watch your piece go from machine to rack, our beautiful handmade products JUST FOR THEM. (Pls correct me if I'm wrong!)OK, that's a lot of caps.So THANK YOU. You're the reason we are able to create a space like this.But thanks most of all to Adam, Lisa and the kids. You've all done so much for me, and I'm stoked to have you on my team x The rest of you know who you are ♡.Look out for some cool sewing and crafting workshops, styling sessions and more in this space. Morning light in my studio today on a fluffy marshmallow-y pile of future The Fly Away With Me Dresses.So natural fibres, such as cotton, linen, silk and wool are naturally breathable and have this weird way of keeping you warm when it's fresh out, and vice versa. They are also hypo-allergenic and moisture wicking #fabricnerd.Linen is perfect for all seasons because of its loose weave and weight. This antique washed linen (that's what it's called) is so soft and tactile, on top of all that.A lot of love (and time!) goes into these pieces, and I'm kinda REALLY excited that 8 of you legends have bought this exact dress in either colour. That is crazy for me, as most people buy through the Iconic. I def remember being excited at 1 order a fortnight 😄I feel like people are starting to believe in my message- that beautiful, high quality, sustainable and minimal styles are available for our tweens and teens. That we can teach them how to shop their values, develop their unique styles and be mindful of disposal fashion.To buy less and buy better.To reuse, mend and alter.To freaking wear something that let's all that natural ☀️ of theirs glow! Look at my handsome TWEEN date last night at the movies! Since we have 5 kids, 'dating' our children has been really important to spend a bit of one on one time with each of them.Let's be real, we have 4 businesses between us, so if we don't actively carve out times to just hang, and chat, and tell each other lame jokes then it kind of...doesn't happen.My teenager in particular is rarely in the car with me since he catches the school bus, so sometimes it can be days before we've said more than 'bring home food' (him) and 'that is not hygienic' (me).I also want to get them in the habit of hanging out with me outside the rest of the fam so when they eventually leave home they'll still hang out with me. (Lol, watch out Pavlov's dogs)Oh yeah, and I call it a date, because it's special and I want them to remember how to act when they eventually take their own ladies out 🤣 (or whoever).But mainly, it's so I can be reminded of how nice, and funny, and smart they are (and to keep up with the goss). Sometimes all that gets lost in the daily nagging, lol.Do you 'date' your tweens and teens? I'd love some more ideas but you need to know first I'm TERRIFIED OF HEIGHTS.Xx Brooke
